CITY OF BEREA, OHIO
MINUTES OF A REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
HELD MAY 2, 2005   [edited]
Council of the City of Berea, Ohio, met in the Council Chamber on May 2, 2005,
and was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by President of Council Richard T. Malott, with
James M. Baker, George Capellas, Dale A. Lange, Adrian Maldonado, Jim Maxwell, Jim
Walters. Absent: James J. Brown. The Pledge of Allegiance followed.
Mr. Lange also reported the ad hoc committee consisting of himself, Councilmen
Walters and Maxwell, Service Director Brown and the Berea Community Development
Corporation Executive Director Cyril Kleem recently met and recommended the pieces
of legislation on the agenda tonight noted as Ordinance No. 5-9, 5-10 and 5-11.

LEGISLATION
The following Ordinance was read by title for third reading:
AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE STREET NAME OF VETERANS DRIVE IN THE
CITY OF BEREA TO ALBERT E. BAESEL DRIVE.
Moved by Walters, seconded by Maldonado that the Ordinance be adopted.
Mr. Walters said Albert E. Baesel was a World War I hero from Berea and it was fitting
that this drive be given his name. Mr. Maxwell added that the street would be dedicated
on Memorial Day.
Vote on motion to adopt was ayes: Capellas, Lange, Maldonado, Maxwell,
Walters, Baker. Nays: none. Motion carried. Ordinance No. 2005-25 passed.

There being no further business to come before Council, moved by Baker,
seconded by Walters to adjourn the meeting. Vote on the motion to adjourn was all
ayes and no nays.
President of Council Malott declared the meeting adjourned at 9:10 p.m.
