Three shots were fired. A bugle blew. Honor had been paid.
Two men who won the medal of honor in previous wars attended the funeral, One, Major-brevet LeRoy W. Williams, 1951 E. 66th street, crawled close to the Confederate lines at Cold Harbor, Va., in 1864, and brought back his colonel's body, under fire.
The other, Major-brevet William Keller, 10603 Gooding avenue N.E., rescued several wounded in the battle of Santiago, in 1898.
